A quark is a type of elementary particle and a fundamental constituent of matter. Quarks combine to form composite particles called hadrons, the most stable of which are the protons and neutrons that make up atomic nuclei. All commonly observed matter is made up of up quarks, down quarks, and electrons.

Due to a phenomenon known as color limiting, quarks never occur in isolation; they can only be found inside hadrons, which include baryons (such as protons and neutrons) and mesons, or in quark-gluon plasmas. For this reason, much of what is known about quarks has come from observations of hadrons.

This Matter from Molecule to Quark Diagram is a free presentation slide which works in Google Slides and in PowerPoint and entirely dedicated to physics and chemistry. The diagram shows transformation of matter using a water molecules.
